Finding religion.George W. Bush isn't the only politician appealing to a higher power. Earlier this month, Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn joined the congregants of the Westwood United Methodist Church at a Sunday service commemorating its 75th anniversary. Hahn spokeswoman Shannon Murphy, who also attended the event, noted the speaking engagement was not out of the ordinary and that Hahn often attends religious events. In his brief speech from the lectern of the church sanctuary, Hahn: Church-going. Hahn plugged the Greater Los Angeles Billy Graham Crusade, which ran last week at the Rose Bowl. Although he didn't mention it, Hahn's sister, City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, was scheduled to give her personal testimony at the Crusade just before Christian singer Michael W. Smith's Friday night performance. |
