Louisiana

In Louisiana, when we say music lives here it's not just a slogan. Really. In New Orleans, at North Rampart and Orleans streets, jazz was born. The spot is Congo Square, where enslaved Enslaved may refer to:
  • Slavery, the socio-economic condition of being owned and worked by and for someone else
  • Submissive (BDSM), people playing the 'slave' part in BDSM
  • Enslaved (band), a progressive black metal/Viking metal band from Haugesund, Norway
Africans in colonial New Orleans gathered to celebrate their cultures and their music. The spirit of jazz still lives there. In northern Louisiana, in the small towns along the Red River and the Mississippi River, field hands in the cane and cotton fields first sang the blues. Their soulful songs danced with both joy and despair, and that spirit still resides here too.

Music lives in our art. Renowned sculptor and painter John Scott infuses his metal creations and sweeping murals with the movement and vibrancy of jazz and blues. The late "primitive" painter Clementine Hunter immortalized the songs of plantation life in her brilliant canvases.

Music lives in our food. (The mmmmmm of happy eaters is just folks humming along with the melody.) The seasonings and spices of Louisiana CODE, OF LOUISIANA. Hertz

Hertz Introduces New, Elite Levels for #1 Club Gold Members in the U.S.

Since 1989, Hertz has offered renters its #1 Club Gold program, a premier, expedited rental service with preassigned vehicles sheltered under weather-protected canopies. With #1 Club Gold, members have no rental agreements to sign and simply arrive at Hertz locations, where the car will be waiting, ready to go.

Frank Camacho, Staff Vice President, Marketing for Hertz stated, "We developed #1 Club Gold with the frequent renter in mind. The service incorporates the elements that are most important to them: Protection from the weather, a fast, problem-free rental and personalized attention. #1 Club Gold members receive a level of service that is unsurpassed in the industry."

Capitalizing upon the program's success and seeking a way to reward its most loyal customers, Hertz initiated a new, three-tiered program for #1 Club Gold members. In addition to providing expedited rental and return process, members have the opportunity to earn higher program status with increased rental activity, ultimately becoming a #1 Club Gold Five Star or President's Circle member.

"Given Hertz' commitment to exceeding customer expectations, we are offering new #1 Club Gold levels to recognize Hertz' best customers with enhanced benefits and service," continued Camacho. "In addition to rewarding high volume renters, we encourage all #1 Club Gold members to earn their way to a higher status through increased rental activity."

Upon completion of 10 or more rentals within a 12-month period, customers are eligible for the Five Star level. At this level, customers receive complimentary one-car class upgrades, special coupon offers and a Free Rental Day Certificate after every 20 rentals.

At the end of each year, rental activity is evaluated and, with a higher level of rentals, 40 or more rentals, Five Star members qualify for #1 Club Gold President's Circle.

President's Circle provides guaranteed availability of a vehicle, a guaranteed upgrade and a vehicle parked in a specially designated President's Circle parking area. In addition, President's Circle members receive #1 Awards bonus points, Free Rental Day certificates and a birthday gift of free frequent flyer miles or #1 Awards points.

"With these new levels and enhancements we are thanking our most loyal customers for their patronage of Hertz," concluded Camacho.
