 companies and their advertising agencies celebrated the best of the industry's advertising in 2002 at last night's ninth annual Financial Communications Society (FCS FCS - Frame Check Sequence ) Portfolio Awards. The three "Best of Show" awards representing Corporate Image, Consumer Retail, and Business-to-Business, went to E*Trade Financial, Citigroup, and International Securities Exchange, respectively. "Treadmill" from Citigroup was the People's Choice Award, which was voted on electronically by attendees and was selected among the Best of Show winners.

The winning E-Trade e-trade

To buy or sell a security via computer. Brokerage firms route computer-generated customer orders to appropriate dealers and exchange specialists.
 Financial submission in the Corporate Image category was their Multimedia campaign "1999" created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. The campaign ridiculed the dot-com boom See dot-com bubble.  while ushering in Noun 1. ushering in - the introduction of something new; "it signalled the ushering in of a new era"
first appearance, introduction, debut, entry, launching, unveiling - the act of beginning something new; "they looked forward to the debut of their new product line"
 a new name and company philosophy. Citigroup's winning Consumer Retail campaign, created by Fallon, consisted of a single television spot "Treadmill". The television spot of an out of shape male on a malfunctional treadmill was used to demonstrate how using your credit card could protect you against defective defective adj. not being capable of fulfilling its function, ranging from a deed of land to a piece of equipment. Publicis was the agency behind International Securities Exchange's campaign "Best of Show" winner in the Business-to-Business category. The "Demand Tighter Markets" print campaign was designed to capture the revolutionary spirit of ISE Ise (ē`sā), city (1990 pop. 104,164), Mie prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on Ise Bay. It is one of the foremost religious centers of Shinto, the site of the shrines of Ise.  as a superior trading marketplace. The campaign initiates a "call to arms ! a summons to war or battle.
