MIAMI -- Jewish motorcyclists? Yes, amazingly they exist, and there's a whole lot more of them than you think - actually more than 50,000 nationwide. Even though "nice Jewish boys" aren't supposed to ride motorcycles, they do, so they might as well wear "Kosher clothing," it's the least they can do to keep their mothers and wives happy.

"Well, technically the clothing isn't actually kosher," says Jeff Mustard, founder of King David Bikers and the man behind the creation of the "clothing and chachkas" line that consists of more than two-dozen products, "but they're not traif either." Reading the merchandise descriptions in the "Clothing & Chachkas Catalogue" is almost as much fun as actually wearing the shirts or drinking from the coffee cups. Mustard, a former stand-up comedian turned professional comedy writer and producer put his wit to work in developing the KDB Gear line.

"The club logo and shirts were an instant hit," says Mustard, and according to the Brooklyn-born biker who's now a Florida-native, "the shirts flew off the table at their Sunday morning ride meetings faster than you could say 'sale at Loehmans.'" "Everywhere we went people wanted the shirts, Jews and non-Jews alike."

Mustard has fun with the stereo-type that "Jewish boys" (or girls) don't ride motorcycles. The shirts and slogans play against that false axiom. And so, top quality t-shirts with snappy slogans get those who sport the clever shirts quite a bit of attention, and not just from "members of the tribe."

Take for instance the two best selling t-shirts: "Biker's with Matzah Balls," and "100% Kosher All Beef Biker." Then there's, "Ride Responsibly, Eat Kosher" which promotes safety and your faith all at once, after all, when was the last time someone you knew got arrested for having too much chopped liver in their bloodstream? Never!" There's the "Circle K" shirt that displays the "kosher Heckshire." Says mustard, "Those in the know will know who's wearing this shirt."

If you want to start your day the Hebrew way there are also three different monster coffee mugs that have the phrases: "A Yiddisha Cup," "The Big Macha" and "Jews Who Cruise," blazoned across them. Says Mustard, "these aren't just for bikers, they're for everyone."

"Bikers are big-time cigar smokers," says Mustard who has his own line of Premium Natural Dominican's being hand rolled for club members and bikers at large under the "Mechaia" label. "'Mechaia' in Hebrew means 'great pleasure'," says Mustard who adds that "the Mechaia cigar will satisfy any true cigar smoker's palate whether accompanied by a 50-year old scotch or last week's Manischewitz."

The KDB Gear line has clothing for men and women, including t-shirts, tank tops, and plenty of uni-sex items such as fleece's, sweatshirts, polo shirts, black and blue-denim short and long sleeve shirts. Of course there's clothing for the women too, amazingly there are some who ride their own bikes and others who are "looking for that special someone," which of course means an accountant, doctor or lawyer, but preferably one who rides.
