Finalists chosen for principal.

HARDWICK - The dean of academic affairs at Quabbin Regional Middle School in Barre and a Gardner elementary school principal are the finalists for the principal's job at Hardwick Elementary School.

One of the two will succeed Catherine Brandon, who will retire at the end of the school year after a decade at the helm of the school

The two finalists are scheduled to visit the school on April 16 and 17. The visits will include time for staff, parents and residents to meet the finalists, ask questions, and give feedback to the superintendent.

Cherie McComb, who will visit the school April 16, has been principal of the Helen Mae Sauter School in Gardner since 2005. Before that she was a teacher in Gardner. Jan Williams, who will visit April 17, has been the dean of academic affairs at Quabbin Regional Middle School since 2006, and before that she was a teacher in Hubbardston and Barre. She also was a teacher and media technology coordinator in Charleston, W.Va.
