Filmmaker John Threat - Dead Prez: Bigger Than Hip Hop


Are you tuned in or zoned out? Well, grab your remote and set your DVRs because the revolution will be televised—tonight, June 9th at 10pm on Starz InBlack, to be exact. Politically-minded rap duo, Dead Prez, will hijack your plasma with the debut of their documentary concert film, Dead Prez: Bigger Than Hip Hop.

The hour-long indie flick features interviews with M-1 and Stic.man, who offer their take on world politics, urban poverty, black pride, healthy living, and the power of Black women.

VIBE.com recently caught up with, John Threat, the film’s director, who gave us a behind-the-scenes peak at his latest hip hop opus.
