FileNet Announces Visual WorkFlo Applications from 15 Partners; SolutionNet Catalog showcases innovative solutions developed with Visual WorkFlo.
Through its SolutionNet program, FileNet provides worldwide technical and marketing assistance to its partners to develop and market Visual WorkFlo-based solutions. Visual WorkFlo is intelligent workflow management software that enables organizations to provide fast response to changing business needs by significantly reducing application development time and maintenance costs. It utilizes object-oriented technology and graphical authoring tools to create and modify Work Performers, which are individual program modules for executing tasks such as document scanning, data entry/indexing or invoice processing, that can be quickly and easily combined to build workflow applications.
"By supporting rapid development frameworks, reusable designs and industry-standard software tools, Visual WorkFlo is becoming the platform of choice for workflow developers," said Jordan Libit, vice president of marketing at FileNet. "FileNet will continue to build its catalog of WorkFlo solutions that provide partners with new market opportunities and users with faster out-of-the-box deployment of innovative applications."
According to Bruce Silver of Bruce Silver Associates, Weston, Mass., "The growing availability of third party Work Performers that support fast development and easy reuse will really accelerate the workflow market. FileNet is ahead of the competition in working with its partners and customers to build a catalog of workflow objects for a wide variety of horizontal and vertical applications."
Visual WorkFlo consists of three modules: a Microsoft Windows-based authoring product called Visual WorkFlo/Composer; a client runtime program called Visual WorkFlo/Performer; and a system administration module called Visual WorkFlo/Conductor. FileNet supports solution deployment with the innovative Visual WorkFlo/Mentor Program that provides professional services from FileNet and third-parties to help organizations design process automation solutions with Visual WorkFlo and other object components. Visual WorkFlo is an open, flexible framework for workflow application development. It supports standard tools such as C++, Visual Basic and PowerBuilder, Microsoft Windows-compatible applications that are DDE and OLE 2.0 compliant and FileNet's WorkFlo Business System products. Server software requirements include FileNet's Image Management Services software for imaging applications or Visual WorkFlo/Services for non-image applications.
