OpenPGP standard for encrypted files. The import and export of new keys has now been made quicker and easier with new one-step operations and support for PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) A data encryption program from PGP Corporation, Palo Alto, CA (www.pgp.com). Published as freeware in 1991 and widely used around the world for encrypting e-mail messages and securing files, PGP is available for commercial use and as freeware for  v5 and v6 keys for eneryption. The software automatically detects the encryption algorithm from the public key of the person the information is to be encrypted for so the user doesn't have to choose.

The foundation of a PKI is the certificate authority (CA), which issues digital certificates that authenticate the identity of  technology and provides the same protection as PKI products while supporting the encryption and decryption (cryptography) decryption - Any procedure used in cryptography to convert ciphertext (encrypted data) into plaintext.  of PGP-protected files as well as the generation, import and export of PGP and PKI cryptographic keys.
