Fights with sister.

My sister and I fight. What can we do to not fight?

Kirsten S. (by e-mail)

You might want to have a heart-to-heart talk with your sister sometime when the two of you are getting along. Perhaps the fighting has been bothering her, too. Together you might be able to find ways to prevent arguing.

For example, if you start to feel upset, you could walk away from each other until you calm down. Or if you notice your sister is in a bad mood, you could give her some space. Sometimes people need to be by themselves for a while.

It helps to treat others the way you'd like to be treated. If you and your sister can agree to treat each other with kindness and respect, your relationship will probably improve.
