 ban in Ohio--Cleveland-based lesbian singer-songwriter Anne E. DeChant Anne E. DeChant is an American rock singer/songwriter/guitarist based in the Cleveland area. Her career began with the promising band Odd Girl Out in the early 1990's before releasing her first solo project in 1996.  penned the song "Second Class Citizen" to raise awareness about the issue. Now the award-winning Adj. 1. award-winning - having received awards; "this award-winning bridge spans a distance of five miles"  folk artist has her own line of T-shirts with the same message.

"I wanted to make our community more visible to other people," said DeChant, noting that www. anneedechant.com has been selling out its supply of the shirts. "People still don't understand that gays and lesbians as a group are being discriminated against."
