Festival success for college choir.


THE PATTISON College Established in 1949, Pattison College is a non-selective independent school in the east of Coventry. Pattison College provides education for children aged 3 to 16 of all abilities.  choir has swept the board at two Warwickshire arts festivals.

Choirs from the fee paying specialist performing arts school in Binley Road, College won first and second prize at the Nuneaton Festival. The choirs also won two first prizes and a second prize at the Leamington Festival taking the Purcell Warren memorial trophy.

Judges said the choirs sounded terrific, looked good and were entertaining.

Pupils from the school also did well in the choral verse speaking sections of the Nuneaton Festival with children aged seven and eight in year three, children aged eight and nine in year four and children aged 14 and 15 in year 10 all coming second. Children aged 12 and 13 in year eight came first.

Principal Elizabeth McConnell said: "This is the first time the school has entered the festivals and I am very proud of their achievements. These successes come in our 60th anniversary year which makes them even more special."

 at the school's show, called Showstoppers, to take place at the Royal Spa Centre The Royal Spa Centre is a theatre in Leamington Spa, United Kingdom. The centre was officially opened on 15th June 1972 by Anthony Eden, one time MP for Leamington and Warwick and Prime Minister of the UK.  in Newbold Terrace, Leamington on Saturday July 11 at 3pm.
