Festival relishes the Big Mac sound.


THOUSANDS of people flocked to a South Wales South Wales south nsud m du Pays de Galles  festival on Saturday for a day of family entertainment.

The Big Mac Holy Soul Band was the highlight of the day at Treharris, Merthyr Tydfil Merthyr Tydfil (mûr`thər tĭd`vĭl), town (1981 pop. 38,893) and county borough, 43 sq mi (111 sq km), S Wales. Located on the Taff River, the town is connected to Cardiff by canal. It has ironworks and steelworks. , wowing the crowds until the official end of the day at 6pm.

Clowns, bouncy castles, stalls and entertainers were on hand to ensure a funpacked day was had by all.

A stand run by Remploy raised pounds 1,100 towards a fund dedicated to buying a specialised wheelchair for Justin Furlong furlong: see English units of measurement.  of Abercynon.

Justin is setting his sights on attending the Paralympics in Torino in 2006.

The everpopular festival sprang to life after the closure of the village's deep mine.
