Festival reaches the final.


COVENTRY'S Godiva Festival The Godiva Festival is a music festival held each year in the War Memorial Park, Coventry, England, named after the city's famous former inhabitant Lady Godiva, Visitors  has reached the second round of a national competition.

It has made the final short list for the UK Festival Awards, in the category of best major festival.

It is the only free festival on the list and is competing against big-name events including Glastonbury Glastonbury, town, England
Glastonbury (glăs`tənbərē), town (1991 pop. 6,751), Somerset, SW England. It has a leather industry, but Glastonbury is famous for its religious associations and many legends.

Mick McLaughlin, marketing and communications manager for CV One, which organises the event in War Memorial Park, said: "The fact that Godiva is the only free festival on the short list is testament to all who were involved in programming and producing this fantastic event.

"This year we saw record numbers of attendees who came to revel in the sunshine, soak up the atmosphere and catch live performances from some of the UK's finest artists.

"I would urge everyone who has attended this event to log on to the festival awards website and cast their vote."
