Festival of fun and music through summer.


MUSIC ranging from brass bands and blues to folk and traditional Bengali will be heard in South Shields South Shields, city (1991 pop. 86,488), South Tyneside, NE England, at the mouth of the Tyne River. It is a significant port. Shipbuilding and marine engineering are the main industries; chemicals and paints are manufactured.  this summer.

As part of the South Tyneside South Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear in North East England.

It is bordered by four other boroughs - Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead to the west, Sunderland in the south, and North Tyneside to the north.
 Summer Festival, the Amphitheatre at Sea Road will be hosting gigs every Thursday and Saturday during June and on some Thursdays in July.

Acts set to appear include local tribute band The Reet Hot Chili Peppers on June 6 and The Original Boomtown boom·town

A town experiencing an economic or a population boom.
 Rats, featuring members Garry Roberts and Simon Crowe, who take to the stage on June 13, with support from The Alarm's Dave Sharpe.

Guitarist Paul Kappa will be performing a mix of original songs and specially arranged covers with his band "Kappa" on Saturday, June 20. and June 27 will see a welcome return to the festival for former Lindisfarne front-man Billy Mitchell and his band, who share the bill with The Lonnie Donegan Band featuring Peter Donegan.

Young talent from across the region will also get a chance to shine as part of the live music season at the Amphitheatre, with a series of showcases being held in association with Find Your Talent at The Customs House.

The Amphitheatre will also host live brass bands performances every Sunday afternoon throughout June, July and August, starting with the Westoe Brass Band on June 7.
