Artists wishing to exhibit at this summer's Festival of Arts -- California's Premier Exhibition are invited to submit slides of their best artwork and a completed application form to the Festival of Arts by Feb. 21, 2003. Applicant's may request an application form by calling the Festival of Arts at 949/464-4268.

The festival is a regional exhibit, accepting applications from artists residing in the following cities: Aliso Viejo, Balboa, Balboa Island, Capistrano Beach, Corona del Mar Del Mar is the name of several places in the United States of America:
  • Del Mar, California
  • Del Mar, Texas
  • Del Mar High School, located in San Jose, California
  • Del Mar Racetrack, located in Del Mar, California

Artists must be able to show that they have resided in one of the aforementioned cities for at least one year. Jurying fees are $15 per medium submitted.

The first phase of jurying is scheduled for March 1 when slides will be reviewed. Based on this initial review, selected applicants will proceed to phase two -- the physical jurying process, slated for March 15.

According to Jack Archer, exhibit and artist activities director, "The art must be original, meaning done by the applicant and not reproduced, and meticulously crafted."

The Festival of Arts -- California's Premier Fine Art Exhibition will run from July 6-Aug. 29, 2003 at its traditional home of Irvine Bowl Park in Laguna Beach. Artists and craftsmen of the area may display and sell only original works of art during this prestigious show. For general information, call 949/464-4268.
