Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) Nurse Receives Recognition for Dedication to Fertility Field.

Sue Jasulaitis nominated by new recognition program launched by the International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCIID)

GLENVIEW, Ill. -- Sue Jasulaitis, RN and IVF clinical manager at Fertility Centers of Illinois River North IVF Center, is one of many professionals recently nominated by INCIID for her outstanding efforts in the field of reproductive endocrinology and patient care.

According to Nancy Hemingway, INCIID director, this recognition is an opportunity for those who work closely with fertility patients to receive a 'pat on the back.'

"Infertility is painful and very often the nurses are the front line educators who provide outstanding service and support for couples who are struggling with the loss and pain of infertility and pregnancy loss," said Nancy Hemingway, director, INCIID. "It is important to recognize the outstanding service individuals, such as Sue, provide to those who suffer."

According to one of Sue's veteran patients, her attitude is encouraging and positive. "We could only hope that every couple who experiences infertility could have a nurse like Sue. Every step of the way, she has been encouraging and uplifting. She wants us to have a baby almost as much as we want one ourselves."

Sue has a diverse background in nursing, with experience in surgical nursing, nursing research, and nursing management. She received a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing Management and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing/Psychology from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

In addition, Sue maintains a consulting role for Serono, Organon, and Ferring Pharmaceutical companies. She frequently lectures on topics involving reproductive nursing and often conducts national nursing educational seminars for reproductive medicine.

Sue's advice, to both new and "experienced" fertility patients, is to develop support resources early and call on these resources as often as necessary.

"For many couples, infertility can be a long, painful journey. Use the many resources along the way to celebrate the highs and support the lows. Cry, laugh, celebrate, mourn. We are all here cheering for you whatever path your treatment takes you!"
