SA The title reflects the view of the editors that "each book is a trustworthy guide helping us read into life," and it has been compiled with the needs of a high school student in mind. The editors began by soliciting teachers and former students for suggestions for titles to include. The suggestions continue to come in and the editors promise future editions with more titles. For this volume, the 1500 books are divided into five sections: Drama, Mythology mythology [Greek,=the telling of stories], the entire body of myths in a given tradition, and the study of myths. The editors feel that since these books were important in the lives of these students, current students might look here first for inspiration. The items in this section might also be round in one of the other sections of the book. The categories here are mixed (fiction and history, for example), and no grade levels are included.
