Band history: Starting in October 2008, Chris Jackson and I started a musical project combining light acoustic sounds and feelgood melodies. We started doing small pub gigs and open mic nights.

After recording some demos in my front room, Faded Cadence gained a pretty big online following.

Kaila Whyte joined the band in March, adding drumming and backing vocals. By June we were playing bigger gigs and had gained airplay on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 show. Violinist Torz Hill arrived this month. After getting a licence to busk in Birmingham city centre we used our money from gigs and selling music to hit the studio.

Influences: Athlete, Yellowcard, Bon Iver.

Current favourite band: The Cab.

Current favourite album: Colour It In by the Maccabees. Record deal?: Looking. Current release: Fireworks. Musical highlight: Doing a radio interview on Beacon Radio. Musical lowpoint: Playing a gig to four people in a pub.

Ambition: To play at one of the big festivals like Glastonbury or T in the Park.
