Feel the force of pounds 1m plans.North Yorkshire Police North Yorkshire Police is the Home Office police force covering the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire and the unitary authority of York in northern England.The force covers England's largest county and comprises of three area command units. are splashing out pounds 1m on improving their officer training programme. The cash, made available by the Police Authority, will be spent in such areas as improving training for probationary police officers and developing more lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the concept that "It's never too soon or too late for learning", a philosophy that has taken root in a whole host of different organisations. Lifelong learning is attitudinal; that one can and should be open to new ideas, decisions, skills or behaviors. . As an NVQ NVQ n abbr (BRIT) (= national vocational qualification) → título de formación profesional NVQ n abbr (= National Vocational Qualification) → awarding centre, the money will also be used to increase the range of NVQs offered by the force, as well as to recruit a career development officer to develop, and implement opportunities for police officers and police staff. As part of the investment, the force will increase the amount of driver and firearms training it provides, by recruiting extra training staff in these fields. The force also plans to improve the post-induction training that is currently provided to staff, and give more opportunities for people to go on external courses. The pounds 1m investment in training forms part of the North Yorkshire Policing Thrust strategy, a programme of change which has a particular emphasis on improving service delivery to the public. |
