Feel the beat: fun music for class.

It's great when you have live accompaniment for class, but many teachers must teach at least part of the time to CDs. Don't stick to the same five for every class. Spice up your music life--it will help your students as well.

Try experimenting with different genres. What about steel drum music for petit allegro? Or Aboriginal didgeridoo for adagio? By introducing different rhythms and sounds, you challenge your dancers to find an entirely new sense of musicality and make conscious timing decisions. Still, some classes lend themselves to the classics. Find a wide selection on sites such as www.danceclassmusic.com, www.finisjhung.com, and ww.bobrizzo.com.
