Feed your livestock for profit.

GROWING crops can be a good way to feed your own animals, but is it really worth it? Do you know how much energy and protein they are actually supplying? And how much do your livestock need, anyway? A seminar will today attempt to answer these questions. It's being hosted by Deio Hughes at Ty Mawr Organic Farms, Pont Llyfni, Caernarfon, LL54 5ED, 1.30pm-4pm.

The Farming Connect event, organised by Organic Centre Wales Wales, Welsh Cymru, western peninsula and political division (principality) of Great Britain (1991 pop. 2,798,200), 8,016 sq mi (20,761 sq km), west of England; politically united with England since 1536. The capital is Cardiff. , is aimed at both organic and converting farmers.

Heather McCalman, of the Grassland Development Centre, IBERS, will talk about which crops to grow and how to grow them. Kite Consulting's Ainsley Baker will discuss targeted weight gains and alternative ways of finishing lambs.

Event organiser Mari Jones said: "As margins tighten, we must be producing crops for animals which can be converted to saleable sale·a·ble
