OAK BROOK, Ill., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Federal Signal Corporation today announced the signing of a joint venture agreement establishing a new Chinese company, Federal Signal (Shanghai) Environmental & Sanitary Vehicle Company Limited, based near Shanghai, China. Investors in the joint venture include Federal Signal Corporation (50%); United Motor Works, based in Malaysia (15%); and Shanghai Environmental Sanitary Vehicle & Equipment Factory, a Chinese state-owned enterprise, (35%). The joint venture will build compact refuse trucks for the Asian market, with production expected to ramp-up through mid-2006.

In addition, the joint venture will have the benefit of an established distribution network in the major cities in China, with expansion plans to other key cities already in the works."
