FedNor satellite office expected to open this month.FedNor officials will cut the ribbon this month on a new satellite office to better serve clients in the Nipissing region. Four people will be on staff including three field officers and one clerical personnel. Nipissing MP Bob Wood says the new office will enhance FedNor's delivery of economic development initiatives in his riding and promote small business growth in the North Bay area. "I'm thrilled to see a FedNor office become a permanent fixture in our community," says Wood who made the announcement the same day FedNor allocated $264,418 in funding for local projects. "FedNor is committed to improving service delivery, to give consumers, businesses, and investors efficient and ready access to government services in a way that is responsive to their individual needs," said Secretary of State Andy Mitchell in a statement. The office will oversee more than 120 active cases in the North Bay area. Since September 1999, FedNor has invested more than $28 million in 290 programs and services covering a wide range of business and community initiatives, and economic development opportunities throughout northeastern Ontario. |
