Mosley introduces us to Paris Minton, a young man who has turned his life passion for reading into a profession. A used book store owner, he obtains discarded books from public libraries to stock his shelves. As true with many of Mosley's protagonists, Paris has turned nothing into something and found happiness. His happiness is short lived, however. A woman enters his life and brings destruction. With stability ripped from his life, Paris seeks out Fearless Jones, his friend and backbone. We ride with Paris and Fearless through a fast paced mystery that entangles the African American and Jewish community.
