Fauske & Associates Announces Immediate Availability of Its Advanced Reactive System Screening Tool; Cost Effective Means of Managing Chemical Reactivity Hazards in Europe and Elsewhere.

Business Editors

BURR RIDGE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 2004

Fauske & Associates, Inc. (FAI), a world leader in the field of process safety management to the chemical and nuclear industries, today announced off-the-shelf availability of its Advanced Reactive System Screening Tool (ARSST ARSST Army Space Support Team (TM)) to its customers in Europe and elsewhere. ARSST, which incorporates the most recent advances in adiabatic ad·i·a·bat·ic

calorimetry calorimetry (kăl'ərĭm`ətrē), measurement of heat and the determination of heat capacity , is a reliable and cost-effective calorimeter calorimeter: see calorimetry.

Device for measuring heat produced during a mechanical, electrical, or chemical reaction and for calculating the heat capacity of materials.
that can quickly and safely identify potential thermal reaction hazards in chemical processing, transport and storage.

The product of extensive research into runaway chemical reactions and their impact on process system dynamics, ARSST's design allows users to quickly get reliable adiabatic pressure and temperature rate data that are difficult to obtain with other commercially available instruments. Also FAI's patented flow regime detector can distinguish between foamy foam·y

2. Covered with foam.

 and non-foamy reactive behavior.

The standard hardware configuration consists of a personal computer with ARSST software, an electronics control cabinet and a safety containment vessel with a test cell enclosed. Optional equipment includes a flow regime detector, dual thermocouple option, high pressure vessel, and an external safety relief valve for regulation of containment pressure.

"Smaller chemical facility operators in Europe and elsewhere did not have access to simple and affordable tools for implementing established protocols in relief system design until Fauske and Associates introduced the Reactive System Screening Tool (RSST RSST Reactive System Screening Tool

(TM)) in the early 1990's", said Kris Fauske, FAI's vice-president of operations and chemical systems. "Current users of the older RSST system can now upgrade to the newer ARSST system by simply purchasing new control software, a control box and data acquisition card."

Price and Availability

The complete ARSST system costing approximately $25,000.00 US is immediately available with delivery guaranteed within 2-4 weeks upon receipt of an order.
