Fatbrain.com(TM) (Nasdaq:FATB FATB Florida Association of Ticket Brokers ), the Internet's most comprehensive bookstore for professionals, today announced it has named Dennis Capovilla, age 39, to the newly-created position of president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Capovilla will report to Chris MacAskill, who continues as chief executive officer. In his new role, Capovilla will lead the day-to-day operations of the company and drive growth of the business-to-business strategy. MacAskill will focus on extending the strategic direction of the company into new areas.

The company also announced that chief financial officer Don Alvarez will leave Fatbrain.com to pursue other opportunities. Alvarez will be replaced on an interim basis by Janet Hall, senior director of finance.

His successful track record makes him the ideal candidate to expand upon past successes and ensure operational excellence moving forward. Capovilla joined Fatbrain.com in June of 1997 as vice president of sales and business development. A five-year veteran of Apple, Capovilla also held several worldwide managerial marketing positions.
