Fast foam prototyping. (In Gear).

Who: Ketco Inc. (Dayton OH)

What: "Foam 8 Fill" contract pattern services for composite tooling and prototyping

Why you should care: Ketco claims that its process quickly creates high-quality, cost effective prototype molds & tooling masters for midsize to large contoured body parts.

Pertinent Data: Using in-house large envelope (up to 15 x 10 x 4ft.) 5-Axis CNC contouring machines, foam core is machined undersized to provide a stable base for pattern. An epoxy shell is applied to the core for finish machining to a net shape. The process can produce a male model or female mold for direct part prototyping. Ketco hand blocks each pattern as specified by the customer
