FAST Selected from 420 Applicants for Highly Distinguished Award for Technical Excellence, Innovative Content, Strategic Business Planning and More

Fast Search & Transfer(TM) (FAST(TM)), the leading developer of enterprise search and real-time alerting technologies, today announced that Euro-CASE has selected FAST Data Search(TM) as a 2004 European IST Prize Winner. FAST's enterprise search technology was selected as one of 20 Winners among 420 applicants from 28 countries based on highly competitive criteria including technical excellence, innovative content, potential market value and capacity to generate employment. The European IST Prize evaluation group consists of independent experts from 16 European countries, nominated by Euro-CASE.

Organized by the European Council European Council, a consultative branch of the governing body of the European Union (EU). It is composed of the heads of government of the EU nations and their foreign ministers, in conjunction with the president and two additional members from the European  of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro-CASE), with the sponsorship and support of the Information Society Programme of the European Commission European Commission, branch of the governing body of the European Union (EU) invested with executive and some legislative powers. Located in Brussels, Belgium, it was founded in 1967 when the three treaty organizations comprising what was then the European Community , the European IST Prize is the most distinguished award for innovative products and services in the field of Information Society Technologies.
