Fashion outlaws; Call the style police! Here are some of this season's worst offences - and how to fix them.Byline: Caroline Jones Naomi Watts, 40 Billowy bil·low n. 1. A large wave or swell of water. 2. A great swell, surge, or undulating mass, as of smoke or sound. v. bil·lowed, bil·low·ing, bil·lows v.intr. 1. harem pants that end just below the knee are a difficult look to pull off for anyone - even a willowy wil·low·y adj. wil·low·i·er, wil·low·i·est 1. Planted with or abounding in willows. 2. Resembling a willow tree, especially: a. Flexible; pliant. b. Tall, slender, and graceful. type such as King Kong actress Naomi. But when they are worn with flat sandals they really do make legs look stumpy. Tweak it: By swapping her flat sandals for more flattering high heels Naomi would instantly create the illusion of longer legs. Celeb ce·leb n. Informal A celebrity. who got it right: Petite pop star Rachel Stevens, 31, looks elegant in this all-inone. The full-length harem pants teamed with heels make her legs look long and lean under the looser fabric. Anna Friel, 33 Not only is she perilously close to a wardrobe malfunction, but Anna does herself no favours letting her assets droop in this low-cut dress. The puffy shoulders combined with a square neckline neckline The line that connects the two lowest points on the intermediate declines of a head-and-shoulders chart pattern. In an inverted head-and-shoulders formation, the neckline connects the two intermediate tops. only emphasise her lack of curves. Tweak it: Always wear a supportive bra with a low-cut dress. But if you really want to go bra-free, opt for a higher neckline and a stretch fabric that will cling to your curves, rather than flatten them. Celeb who got it right: Kate Moss, 35, manages to balance out the exaggerated superpadded shoulders on this fashion-forward dress with a high slash neck and figurehugging fabric. Hayden Panettiere, 19 The dark shading on this dress has the unfortunate effect of making Heroes star Hayden look as though she needs a full body wax! The see-through side panels also make it very clear that she's not wearing any underwear - which is way too much information. Tweak it It's far more sexy to leave something to the imagination. A black or nude slip shows off the pretty pattern of a lace dress without risking your modesty. Celeb who got it right Glamorous Scarlett Johansson, 24, knows that revealing just an inch of flesh along the lacy neckline is far sexier than sporting a totally sheer ensemble. Jenni Falconer, 33 Jenni's shapeless toga-style dress does nothing for her great figure. It hides all her curves making her look straight up and down. Tweak it Toga dresses are much more flattering when they're nipped in at the waist or if they have a diagonal hem or split. Celeb who got it right The toga is one of Megan Fox's favourite red-carpet styles. Here the side split creates balance and draws your eye towards her waist, emphasising her hour-glass figure. Elen Rives, 30 This frilly, orange playsuit may be bang on-trend, but it's a fashion disaster. The halter-neck makes Elen's boobs look saggy and the frilly neckline is pure 80s. The trousers are also too long, and the whole thing two sizes too big - both of which make her look shorter than she is. Tweak it Playsuits can look sophisticated - but choose the right size and don't get swamped with excess fabric. Celeb who got it right Simon Cowell's ex, Terri Seymour, 34, is the epitome of relaxed glamour in this strapless strap·less adj. Having no strap or straps, as a dress or an undergarment. n. A garment having no strap or straps. strapless Adjective playsuit with heels that makes her look tall and lean. Nancy Dell'Olio, 46 Nancy, Nancy, Nancy. This shapeless jersey dress clings in all the wrong places - around the crotch crotch n. The angle or region of the angle formed by the junction of two parts or members, such as two branches, limbs, or legs. ! - and does little to flatter her trim 40-something figure. Tweak it Leave spray-on jersey for the stick-thin 20-somethings. If you have a curvy figure, like Nancy's, make the most of your assets in a structured dress in a fabric that will hold its shape. Drapey fabrics that pool around the body do little for your figure. Celeb who got it right Jo Wood, 53, proves that women of any age can wear trends such as one-shoulder dresses. Just make sure you go for a fitted style with a belt, like our stylish rock chick. Sienna Miller, 27 This OTT OTT - Over the top. Excessive or uncalled for. shimmering nightmare certainly grabs everyone's attention - but for all the wrong reasons. Sienna might have got away with the sequin se·quin n. 1. A small shiny ornamental disk, often sewn on cloth; a spangle. 2. A gold coin of the Venetian Republic. Also called zecchino. tr.v. jacket or the shirt on its own with an otherwise plain outfit. But the trousers are beyond help. They are too tight across her hips and the strange print only adds to the straining effect. Tweak it The key with shiny fabric is to keep it low-key. Wear just one item of highshine clothing to brighten up an otherwise classic outfit. Celeb who got it right At the He's Just Not That Into You premiere Jennifer Aniston, 40, proved that a shiny suit can be red-carpet chic, in this subtly shimmering number.
