Fashion fan's best in Field.

A BIRMINGHAM student has proved he's a cut above the rest after landing a place at a prestigious fashion college.

Craig Field will be packing his bags and heading for the capital after securing a coveted place at the London College of Fashion, which launched the careers of bigname designers including Jimmy Choo and Patrick Cox.

The 20-year-old recently graduated with a triple distinction on the BTEC in fashion and clothing course at South Birmingham College, where he joined after reading about the course in the Birmingham Mail.

The college recently transformed an old car showroom on Digbeth High Street into a new fashion study centre for students.

College assistant director of fashion Eileen Simons said: "We are very proud of what Craig has achieved.

"We are not surprised though.

"He was a really good student right from the beginning of the course, he excelled at everything."
