[Trademarks: Crowley Trade, 368] See : Luxury Fashion Week to unveil the redesign of the lobby and public space at 1407 Broadway, an iconic office building for the fashion industry in the heart of Manhattan's Garment District. On display was a series of ten busts of world-renowned fashion designers that will grace the lobby of the well-known office tower. The designers were selected based on their historic contributions in making New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of a fashion capital of the world. The Lightstone Group commissioned Manhattan's Suzanne Couture to sculpt sculpt v. sculpt·ed, sculpt·ing, sculpts v.tr. 1. To sculpture (an object). 2. To shape, mold, or fashion especially with artistry or precision: the ten busts, which will be displayed in the building's gallery connecting the 1407 Broadway lobby to the 533 7th Avenue lobby. Over the past 58 years, 1407 has been a fashion haven for designers to create and invent the styles we wear each day. Built in 1950, the renowned architect Ely Kahn of Buchman & Kahn, later known as, Kahn & Jacobs, designed the building to meet the needs of the post WWII WWII abbr. World War II WWII World War Two burgeoning garment industry and now, under the ownership of The Light-stone Group, the building is undergoing a comprehensive renovation. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] The 1.1 million square feet building has almost 300 retail tenants, remains the home of apparel showrooms, designers and labels like My Michelle, XOXO XOXO Hugs and Kisses XOXO Extensible Open Xhtml Outlines XOXO XO Communications, Inc. (former stock symbol) , Sag Harbor, Jou Jou and Mudd Jeans. 1407 Broadway's renovated lobby, redesigned by Joel Gevis of New York's Gevis Interiors, will recall the art deco period with new metallic gold and silver ceiling applications, new down lighting, and Alabaster alabaster, fine-grained, massive, translucent variety of gypsum, a hydrous calcium sulfate. It is pure white or streaked with reddish brown. Alabaster, like all other forms of gypsum, forms by the evaporation of bedded deposits that are precipitated mainly from chandeliers. |
