Fashion Center BID relocates to expanded facility on W38th.


The Fashion Center Business Improvement District has relocated to 209 West 38th Street, with a new 10,000 s/f facility.

This larger space will allow the BID to meet the needs of the district and showcase up and coming new designers. The BID has experienced significant growth through its fourteen years of service and had outgrown its former location. The BID's fashion industry information services See Information Systems.  and a showroom space for new, young designers on the ground floor will be included in the expanded space.

The new office building is designed by Nicholas Tjartjalis Architect PC, who also is located in the Fashion District.

Through a selection process, industry professionals who exhibit talent, but are not prepared to afford showroom space will be invited to utilize the space to exhibit their collections to the press and buyers.

A street- level shadow-box window will be used for installations by local artists, other tenants, or fashion industry promotional displays.

"The move into our new offices will allow the BID to expand its scope and reach within the Fashion District, "said Barbara Blair Randall, executive director. "It also will provide needed opportunities to designers and artists, and allow us to continue to serve the needs of this rapidly evolving neighborhood."
