Fashion: Striking a cord; Shereen Low investigates the new look for cord.Byline: Shereen Low YEAR after year, cord remains an ever popular fabric, with stores brimming to the full to satisfy cord-crazy fans. And no wonder. It's so versatile that it can be teamed with denim for a casual weekend outfit, or it can also be dressed up with silk and satin for a dressier day-to-evening look. Hilary Owen, B's fashion editor, explains its appeal: ``Cord is a staple because it's a great alternative to denim. It can be smart or casual, although this winter, it's been given a vintage 70s feel.
