) has named manufacturing executive Ernest Fascett general manager of Carpenter Specialty Wire Products, a processor of small diameter and fine wire products.

His appointment is effective July 1. Fascett succeeds Andrew McElwee, who has been appointed president of Talley Metals Technology, a recent Carpenter acquisition and manufacturer of stainless steel stainless steel: see steel.

Fascett, of Columbia, S.C., returned to Carpenter in 1996 as manager of manufacturing and technical services at Carpenter Specialty Wire Products, Orangeburg, S.C. Between 1987 and 1996, he was manager of process engineering at Teledyne Allvac and vice president of manufacturing for The Rochester Corp.

Before that, he worked for 11 years in a variety of manufacturing positions at Carpenter in the company's Reading facility.
