RYAN O'Neal has told of the last moments of his partner Farrah Fawcett Farrah Fawcett (born February 2 1947) is an American actress. She became a noted pop culture figure and sex symbol of the 1970s and into the 1980s, shaping the landscape of fashion and pop culture. .

Actor O'Neal said doctors gave her two hours to live but the Charlie's Angel star battled on for two more days.

She even managed to smile at him just before she died of cancer in a Santa Monica hospice on June 25.

"Doctors thought she would live just another couple of hours, and she lived a couple of days," he said in an interview with US network NBC NBC
 in full National Broadcasting Co.

"She wouldn't pass, she just looked at us with a slight smile. It was awful. Then she flatlined after about 16 hours and she was gone.

"I do not think she wanted to go, she had things to finish."

Ryan, 68, also revealed that their son Redmond, 24, in jail on drug charges, was allowed out twice to visit his mother.

Ryan proposed to Farrah, 62, in her final days but she lacked the strength to wed.
