Faroudja files lawsuit against Snell & Wilcox for patent infringement.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 1997--Faroudja Laboratories has filed a lawsuit against Snell & Wilcox for patent infringement patent infringement n. the manufacture and/or use of an invention or improvement for which someone else owns a patent issued by the government, without obtaining permission of the owner of the patent by contract, license or waiver.  by the so-called "Interpolator in·ter·po·late

"It is our policy to defend our intellectual property, and we will not accept that other companies-manufacturers, distributors or dealers-benefit from the use of our patents," said Yves Faroudja, Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Faroudja Laboratories. "We intend to use the full extent of the law to prevent it."

Faroudja has retained the law firm of Knobbe, Martens, Olson and Bear, which specializes in the protection of intellectual property rights, to represent it in its lawsuit against Snell & Wilcox.
