Farmer-McElhaney. (2003 Wedding Register).


Kimberly Leigh Farmer of Clinton and Robert Louie Stanton McElhaney of Hattiesburg were united in marriage at five o'clock in the afternoon on March 2, 2002, at First United Methodist Church First United Methodist Church is a common name for the first United Methodist church established in a particular locality. Many First United Methodist Churches exist around the world.  in Clinton, with Rev. David Cox officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Farmer, Jr. of Clinton. The groom is the son of Virginia McElhaney Stringer of Chillicothe, Ohio, and the late Michael James McElhaney, Sr. of Hattiesburg.

A program of nuptial music was provided by Mickey Davis and the Mississippi Symphony Quartet. Soloists were Mr. and Mrs. Joey Wilkinson. Cindy Carter gave the scripture readings. The proxy was Michelle Hardy Hawkins. Karen Brantley Home presided over the guest register.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an original designer gown of new ivory silk satin, The dropped-waist bodice was adorned with French knots, Austrian crystals, soutache sou·tache

Robert Thomas served as the best man. Groomsmen were Marcel Dupre'; Michael McElhaney, nephew of the groom; Tony Palazzo; Shane Switzer; and Darren Weems. The ring bearer was Mark Yeates. Bible carriers were Kerry and Kaleb Easterling, cousins of the bride. The 200-year-old Farmer family Bible was carried on the ring pillow once carried by the Bible carriers' father at the wedding of the bride's parents.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents held a reception at the Old Capitol Inn, with music provided by the Big Daddy Band.

On the eve On the Eve (Накануне in Russian) is the third novel by famous Russian writer Ivan Turgenev, best known for his short stories and the novel Fathers and Sons.  of the wedding, the groom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Capital Club in Jackson.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple is at home in Ridgeland.
