Farmacias Guadalajara Now Offering Western Union Money Transfer Services in 450 Locations in Mexico.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU), a global leader in money-transfer services, and Citibank (Banamex USA) today announced that 450 Farmacias Guadalajara locations throughout Mexico recently began offering Western Union consumer money-transfer services.

Banamex offers Western Union services at more than 4,500 locations throughout Mexico through its own branches, Banamex Aqui Correspondents and other partners. Banamex, a unit of Citigroup, has served as an Agent for Western Union and Orlandi Valuta in Mexico since 2001. In late 2006, Banamex extended its service offerings to include Vigo.

Farmacias Guadalajara, the newest member of the Banamex Aqui Correspondent network, was founded in Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 1942. The "Super Pharmacy" chain expanded over the years with additional locations, services, products and extended hours. The chain, which has nearly 500 locations in 113 cities in 18 states in Mexico, now offers consumers the option to receive Western Union, Vigo and Orlandi Valuta money transfers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
