Fort Lauderdale-Based Investment Bank Closes Deal with Private Equity Firm

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Farlie, Turner & Co., LLC announced that it was the exclusive financial advisor to Sunbelt Environmental, Inc. on its recent sale to Emerald Waste Services, LLC, a portfolio company of the private equity firm WHI Capital Partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sunbelt is a leading regional solid waste management company that specializes in the collection, recycling and disposal of non-hazardous commercial waste, and construction and demolition debris. The company, headquartered in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and operating throughout northwest Florida, retained Farlie Turner in part because of the firm's considerable experience in the waste management industry. Partner Craig Farlie was instrumental in the acquisition of numerous privately-held solid waste companies as a senior executive at Republic Industries (now Republic Services, Inc.). Managing Director Gene Wingerter has more than 35 years industry experience, including 22 years as executive director and CEO of the Environmental Industry Association (EIA), formerly the National Solid Waste Management Association (NSWMA).
