Fargo Electronics to become first printer maker to supply Colorific software for "no-surprises" color printing; PC Expo announcement.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 1995--Fargo Electronics and Sonnetech Ltd. announced today an agreement in principle to provide Sonnetech's Colorific col·or·if·ic  
adj.
Producing or imparting color.
(TM) color management software with all Fargo color printers.

Colorific is being packaged by Fargo with its Primera(TM), PrimeraPro(TM), and Pictura(TM) 310 color printers for Windows computers at no charge to purchasers. Fargo is the first printer manufacturer to offer Colorific color management software with its products. Colorific is the standard color matching feature on monitors from many leading manufacturers, including Nanao, NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

Colorific provides Kodak technology to all Fargo printers for Windows. Familiar to graphic arts professionals, Kodak's Precision(TM) color management system Software that translates the colors of an original image into the truest representation obtainable on the output device. Color management works from a profile of the output device, typically a digital printer or offset press, and works backward to the source of the material such as a  provides a complete end-to-end standard for color rendering.
