In a news conference held at CardTech/SecurTech, a conference and exposition for advanced ID card, biometrics, and security technology, Gary R. Holland, Fargo's president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. ; Ron Firooz, Business Manager, HP SPS Operation; and Paula Shepard, PPG Director of Sales and Marketing, Silicas; unveiled the Fargo Professional Series CardJet(TM) 410 printer/encoder. Fargo will be exhibiting four new printers, including the CardJet 410, at Booth 1001 in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is a collection of buildings in New Orleans, Louisiana. The lower end of building one is located 500 m (1640 feet) upriver from Canal Street on the banks of the Mississippi River. Named after former mayor of New Orleans Ernest N. .

"Today, Fargo is changing the face of card printing. The new Fargo CardJet 410 printer/encoder demonstrates the scope of Fargo's research and development," Holland said. "As the world's leading innovator for card personalization systems, Fargo worked closely with HP's Specialty Printing Systems Operation, which is selling HP's thermal inkjet technology to Fargo on an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  basis, and PPG, which developed the Teslin sheet-based cards used exclusively by the CardJet 410."

innovations to improve our card personalization systems. We worked closely with our two technology partners on this project - HP and PPG - to lead the research, design, development, manufacturing, and sale of the industry's first dedicated inkjet-based plastic card printer/encoder," Holland said. "All of our associates at Fargo are proud of the team that spent several years developing this project.

"Our introduction of thermal inkjet printing for card personalization systems opens the door to thousands of companies and organizations that want to upgrade from cut-and-paste or other systems," Holland said.

"HP is pleased that Fargo has decided to integrate our inkjet technology into its products," said Firooz. "HP's world-leading inkjet technology offers an inexpensive, easy-to-use solution for digital plastic card printers."

McGuire added, "With PPG's expertise in synthetic sheet print imaging, understanding of inkjet printing and polymer processing knowledge, we were able to develop a card in record time that is ideally suited to work with HP's thermal inkjet technology and Fargo's card printing expertise."

"The CardJet 410 is very competitive with old-fashioned `cut and paste' analog photo-based ID badge systems," Holland said. "Features such as convenience, ease of use, virtually no maintenance, cost of supplies, and the professional appearance of the ID badges will make the CardJet 410 a clear winner with end users."

"Extensive market research has shown that our target market - companies, schools, government and other organizations that typically print smaller volumes in a year - want card printers that are easy to understand, simple to operate, and require little maintenance. The CardJet 410 operator can change ink and card cartridges in a matter of seconds, then resume printing, easily and error-free," Holland concluded.

Holland said that Fargo has recently filed a substantial number of patents and trademarks that will protect Fargo's investment in CardJet Printing Technology.
