Farewell to America's 'small-town hero'.FORMER president Gerald Ford was honoured yesterday in a cathedral service attended by other American leaders of the 20th century. Tributes were paid to Ford, who died on Boxing Day aged 93, by speakers including current president George Bush and Henry Kissinger, Ford's secretary of state. Kissinger said: "Gerald Ford had the virtues of small town America." Bush escorted Ford's widow Betty down the aisle of Washington Cathedral.
