Faraway Flower to bloom on return to longer trip.

Nap of the day Faraway Flower 3.50 Warwick The Barry Hills-trained filly shaped like a useful prospect when winning her Doncaster debut last season and, though things went downhill, she was not beaten far behind the likes of Fantasia fantasia (făntā`zhə) [Ital.,=fancy], musical composition not restricted to a formal design, but constructed freely in the manner of an improvisation. In the 16th and 17th cent. , Bonnie Charlie and Serious Attitude, finishing her campaign with sixth place in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes The Cheveley Park Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres) at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course in late September or early October. .

Three of her four starts last year were over 6f but the one time she raced over 7f, in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes The Prestige Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Goodwood Racecourse in late August.  at Goodwood, she appeared to get the trip well enough. She won first time up last season and Hills will have her ready to run well after a layoff.

Golden Stream is a danger following her Sandringham second and will be popular, but she was getting weight off the winner and the third at Royal Ascot Royal Ascot

and I'm not sure she's worth her new mark of 100.

Lay of the day Prince Siegfried 3.40 Kempton This colt couldn't have been more impressive first time out last season (for

Andrew Balding) when hammering Richard Hannon's Full Toss full toss or pitch

Cricket a bowled ball that reaches the batsman without bouncing
 by five lengths.

It's interesting to see Hannon is keen to take him on again with the same horse, while Balding, who knows Prince Siegfried well, is having a pop with the improving Set The Trend.

You can't knock Prince Siegfried on form after his head second in a Group 1 at Saint-Cloud at the end of last season, with subsequent French 2,000 Guineas winner Silver Frost half a length behind in third.

But I've lost count of the number of horses that have gone backwards after joining Godolphin. Much was made of the disappointing strike-rate of their three-year-olds a month ago, but they seem to be hitting form and I can't use that as a reliable negative at this time. What does concern me is his 235-day absence.

Best each-way Indonesia 4.00 Newcastle The seven-year-old was surprisingly well backed for his Haydock comeback run in April, having been off for almost a year, but showed only a glimmer of his old ability, and then his run at Pontefract last time was too bad to be true.

He is on a winning mark, however, and is a course-and-distance winner, so if you can ignore his latest effort he might represent a bit of value in a field full of exposed handicappers.

Multiple The Chris Wall-trained Grand Vizier finished last on his seasonal debut at Windsor 17 days ago, but he wasn't given a particularly hard time and connections will be hopeful that the return to Polytrack will make all the difference.

The five-year-old is better on Polytrack, as his all-weather mark highlights, and punters should not lose faith if he is pushed along turning for home, as he tends to finish his races strongly.
