Far Eastone Telecommunications Co. Ltd. Places $2.1 Million Order with LCC International Inc. for GSM Field Test Measurement Equipment.

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 1997--LCC International Inc., (NASDAQ: LCCI), one of the world's largest providers of radio frequency engineering and network implementation services and products to the international wireless telecommunications industry, Monday announced a contract with Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd., AT&T Wireless' Taiwanese partner.

The $2.1 million order, which represents the largest single purchase of LCC's field measurement equipment and services in Asia, will support AT&T's global system for mobile communications (GSM), a digital Personal Communications Systems (PCS) system. LCC is also providing installation and in-depth training at the client site in Taiwan.

In cooperation with their in-country consortium partners, AT&T will use the LCC field measurement and testing tools to support deployment of their PCS networks granted in January by Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation & Communications (MOTC).

The nationwide license and the regional license will be operated by a consortium whose major members are AT&T and the Far Eastern Group, a leading business group in Taiwan. The other members are Systex, Chiao Tung Bank, China Development Corp. and Cheung Hing Development Ltd.

The equipment that will be used by AT&T Wireless and Far EasTone engineering teams to design, optimize and deploy their GSM network includes a full range of LCC's suite of field measurement tools. Included are:

-- RSAT 2000(R), a real-time monitoring and collection device;

-- EXP-2001(R), a device which can measure and collect radio

frequency (RF) parameters and network performance data for

multiple calls, various technologies and several bands

simultaneously;

-- MSAT 2000(TM), a portable unit which can measure network

parameters in pedestrian environments;

-- SpectraWaves(TM), a test transmitter and LCC's newest addition

to its portfolio of wireless field test measurement equipment.

The technologies to be supported in the products are DCS-1800 RSATs (GSM implemented in the 1800 MHz band), GSM RSATs and EXPs loaded with both technologies (900 MHz and 1800 MHz).
