Falcon Gas Storage to Build New Barnett Shale Pipeline.HOUSTON -- Falcon Gas Storage Company, Inc. today announced that it will build a new 63-mile, 24" gas pipeline primarily to serve its expanded 16 Bcf working capacity Worsham-Steed Gas Storage Facility located in the western portion of the prolific Barnett Shale The Barnett Shale is a geological formation of economic significance. It consists of sedimentary rocks of Mississippian age in the U.S. State of Texas. The formation is estimated to stretch from the city of Dallas to west of the city of Fort Worth and south, covering 5,000 square gas play in North Texas. Capacity in the new pipeline will be 450,000 Mcfd, with commercial operation scheduled to begin September 1, 2007. "Customer response for gas storage capacity in the North Texas market has been tremendous," said Jeff Foutch, Falcon's chief commercial officer. "We have firm multi-year contracts covering over 80% of our working gas storage capacity at Worsham-Steed, which has provided the means to underwrite and build a large-volume, high-pressure gas pipeline.
