Fairways Brighten up Festive Season.

Fairway Foodservice, tel:0142 231 9100, have launched two new products.

Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne, which is available in units of 12 by 340g, is a seven-layer lasagne, composed of red and green peppers, courgettes, onions and tomatoes on layers of fresh pasta and spinach sauce. It is topped with a covering of Parmesan cheese. The meal is microwavable or can be cooked in a conventional oven in 20 minutes.

Their new Courgette and Aubergine Crumble, also packed in 12 by 340g units is, as is name suggests, courgettes and aubergines covered in a rich chunky tomato sauce. It is layered with a golden cheesy crumb topping. It too can be cooked in a microwave or conventional oven.

Fairway's festive sweet list includes new products which are ice cream-based desserts and speciality cake innovations.

The Millennium Meltdown is a chewy chocolate and toffee brownie base piled high with vanilla cheesecake style mousse and chocolate cream. It is then drizzled with a web of caramel sauce and milk and white chocolate ganache, sprinkled with mini marshmallows and topped with edible gold and silver fondant stars.

Another option is their new Mexicana Cheesecake or Ice and Fire Pie. These crumb-based desserts combine sweet roast peppers, sour cream and a hint of chilli with more traditional sweet ingredients, such as vanilla, chocolate, lime and ginger.

The Christmas Pudding Bombe is a luxury, Christmas Pudding flavoured, dairy ice cream, rippled with glazed fruit pieces and continental spices. It is layered with rich chocolate mousse and topped with brandy chocolate sauce.

Another new dessert with a hint of seasonal tradition is Noel Pie. Created especially for the occasion, this golden and short pastry flan is made with creme patissiere, topped with mincemeat, gently latticed with pastry, and finished with a dusting of sugar snow and a drizzle of fondant.

The Christmas Nutcracker is a traditional brandy soaked mincemeat enveloped in generous layers of fresh cream. This filling is then sandwiched between two layers of light hazel-nut meringue and coated with cream.

Finally the Toffee Lumpy Bumpy comprises layers of moist toffee sponge topped with rich toffee flavoured mousse and the cheesecake is covered with toffee flavoured chocolate supreme. Sprinkled with chocolate chunks, toffee blossoms and drizzled with chocolate fudge.
