(XOCECO) for use in its new 42-inch LCD TV (model LC-42FY27). A leading multi-national manufacturer and exporter of consumer electronics, Shanghai-based XOCECO chose the FSHDMI04 for its industry-leading protection features, high-bandwidth and low power consumption. Another key selection factor was Fairchild's HDMI pre-testing support that resulted in the XOCECO TV easily attaining HDMI certification.

"Fairchild's FSHDMI04, with intra-pair skew (1) The misalignment of a document or punch card in the feed tray or hopper that prohibits it from being scanned or read properly.

"In addition to providing us with advanced switch technology, Fairchild provided a pre-compliance testing lab in Shanghai that prepared us to pass the rigorous HDMI test at the Authorized Testing Center (ATC ATC Air Traffic Control

When used in media systems with dual interfaces, the FSHDMI04 HDMI switch allows the application to connect to two other video sources such as DVDs, game consoles and set-top boxes. By offering HDMI functionality in a single device, designers can use the FSHDMI04 to easily add a second HDMI input to the circuitry of their existing application without resorting to costly upgrades. Compared to traditional designs that require a separate receiver to add an HDMI connection, the FSHDMI04 significantly speeds design-cycle times by reducing design complexity.

"Our FSHDMI04 switch was specifically designed to offer the ESD protection and excellent signal quality necessary for meeting the growing demand for HDMI-enabled products," said Patty Miske, switch marketing manager for Fairchild's Analog Products Group. "We are delighted that our switch played a role in allowing XOCECO to meet the specification for HDMI, which, according to In-Stat, is experiencing 'record growth' with HDMI-enabled device shipments predicted to grow to 78 percent per year through 2010.([1]) This certification will dramatically increase the marketability of XOCECO's product as HDMI becomes more prevalent in the electronics market."
