 FUTURE NOW EXECUTIVE NAMED OHIO
 BUSINESSPERSON OF THE YEAR
CINCINNATI, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio State University's Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity has named Terry L. Theye, president and chief executive officer of The Future Now, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNOW), its 1992 Businessperson of the Year. The award is voted on by the membership and recognizes the businessperson in the state of Ohio who not only has most distinguished himself in the world of business, but also has contributed greatly to his community.
Under Theye's direction, the Future Now, a Cincinnati-based computer reseller, has experienced explosive growth, with sales increasing from $16 million in 1988 to more than $138 million in 1991 and net income increasing from $91 thousand in 1988 to more than $3 million in 1991. During June 1991, the company also completed its initial public offering of common shares and, since the offering, has acquired reselling operations in seven markets. In addition, in February 1992, the company announced an agreement in principle to purchase nine reseller operations in or near Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Tenn., New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis and the District of Columbia. Following the acquisition, which is expected in late May or early June, The Future Now would be one of the ten largest resellers in the United States, based on sales volume, with pro forma 1991 revenue of approximately $350 million.
The Future Now sells, installs and services microcomputers, microcomputer software products and turn-key microcomputer systems for business, professional, educational and governmental customers. With more than 550 employees, the company currently has 16 sales offices in eight states.
