FURRY FRIENDS OFTEN MAKE THE BEST PALS.

Byline: -- Mark Kellam

Animals have become a regular part of valleynews.com recently. Last week, we had a story about a birthday party for three dogs -- a bash that celebrated their one-year liberation from an animal shelter.

This week, we run a feature on page 4 about a woman who brings her English cocker spaniel cocker spaniel spaniel: see sporting dog; toy dog., breed of small sporting dog developed from English cocker spaniels English cocker spaniel, breed of compact sporting dog perfected in England, whose development may be traced back to the original spaniels of Spain. It stands about 16 in. (40.6 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs about 30 lb (13.6 kg). Its medium-length coat is silky and slightly wavy and forms fringes of longer hair, or feathers, on the dog's underside, ears, chest, and legs. It may be any of various colors or parti-colored. The tail is docked. brought to the United States in the 1880s. It stands from 14 to 15 in. (35.6–38.1 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs about 25 lb (11.3 kg). Its silky, flat, or wavy coat is moderately long and forms fringes, or feathers, on the underside of the body and on the legs, chest, and ears. to visit patients at Valley Presbyterian Hospital on and a short story on page 5 about a pet adoption event coming up Feb. 10 at the East Valley Animal Care Center in North Hollywood.

If have you a pet, you know the joy they can bring you. If you don't, chances are you don't know what you're missing.

We have two Maine coon cats coon cat, name for a breed of large domestic cats (also called Maine cats), for the coatimundi, and for the cacomistle., a brother and sister. The male is named Juneau Juneau (j`nō), city (1990 pop. 26,751), state capital, SE Alaska, in the Alaska Panhandle; settled by gold miners 1880, inc. 1900. A port on Gastineau Channel, Juneau is a trade center for the Panhandle area, with an ice-free harbor and an airport. and the female is named Victoria, after two major cities in Alaska.

When my roommate, Jeff, and I agreed to adopt them from a friend, we were overwhelmed by how large the cats were. At first we thought we would have to split them up, probably giving the male away to another friend.

I was living in Chino at the time, so I took Juneau for a week to see how he would do. He was miserable. I didn't realize, but at 5 every morning, they would both get up and play. I was awakened at that pre-dawn hour to hear him meowing in the saddest way, looking for his sister.

After one week, we realized that Juneau and Victoria couldn't be separated. It was too hard on Juneau and, most importantly, it was too hard on Jeff, who had always been a noncat person but found himself deeply attached to the furry brother and sister.

Think about adopting a pet. It might be one of the best choices you ever make.
