In the March 23 crash, Bain was riding after a speeding van when a Honda SUV turned left in front of him and stopped. Bain swerved, but his motorcycle saddlebag hit the sport utility vehicle's front bumper and he went down. Bain was thrown into a tree, and was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at a hospital.
